SHINE
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven"  Matthew 5:16

God's light has shone on us since the dawn of time. In fact, the first thing He created was light. He tells us in the Bible that Jesus is the light of the world, and that if we walk with Him we will never walk in darkness.  The absence of light is darkness, and light dispels the darkness. Life without Jesus is spiritual darkness, and it is not and never was God's design that people be separated from Him. We are separated by our sin, the fact that we miss the mark. The mark is perfection. Not perfection as in flawless, but perfection as in mature, or complete. Spiritually fit. Spiritual fitness starts with agreeing with God that we have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God, and that we understand our need for God. We must then believe that God has made a way for us to be right with Him, and that way was through the cross, the place where we saw God's glorious light and life spent and extinguished on our behalf, to cover our sin debt and pay the price for our reconciliation with the King of all Eternity. Our faith in Jesus will bring us life abundant in the here and now, as well as eternal life with the "Light of the world." Friends, that is the "good news", the gospel of Jesus the Christ.
During the French Revolution political prisoners were cast into dungeons. In one place a prisoner possessed a Bible. His cell was crammed with people who wanted to hear the Word of God.  Once each day for only a few moments, a shaft of light would come through a tiny window near the ceiling. The prisoners devised a way whereby they would lift the owner of the bible onto their shoulders and into the sunlight. There, in that position, he would study the scriptures. Then they would bring him down and say, "Tell us now, friend, what did you read while you were in the light?"     Have you seen the light?  Have you spent time with Jesus?  Do you have a personal relationship with Him?  His strong desire is that you know, understand, and receive His love. He wants  you to become "blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world." Philippians 2:15
Remember that you are not alone in this life, you are surrounded by an "Army" of people.  In this Salvation Army you have officers and  soldiers who are praying  continually for the Light of the world to envelop you, and allow you to shine His light into your world today!
"This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine, This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!!"
