"A Star shall come out of Jacob; A Scepter shall rise out of Israel"  Numbers 24:17

Have you ever gone out on a moonless, clear night and just gazed at the sky?  It is amazing how many stars are up there!  If you have a telescope, or even a pair of binoculars, it intensifies the experience.  Our solar system is incredible.  Thousands of years ago, God told a man named Abram to go out and "look now toward heaven and count the stars if you are able to number them."  And God said to him, "So shall your descendants be."  I wonder how long and how many times Abram gazed into the sky as he contemplated the Lord's promise.  The promise continues to this day as the descendants of "Father Abraham" walk this earth, and live life in God's abundant blessing.
What do you see when you look into the night sky?  Do you the wonders of God's creation, or simply a universe you cannot understand?  Jesus is the Star spoken of in this prophecy from the book of Numbers.  Jesus is the "Light of the world," the Light of the universe, the Light of all of God's miraculous creation.  Isn't it interesting that the Hubbell Satellite can take pictures in outer space without an on-board light source.  How can this be?  Friends, Jesus is the light!   When a man or woman professes faith in Jesus, they become a "child of Abraham,' a 'child of the promise."   Has a star been lit for you in the heavens?  If you have accepted Jesus, The Christ, as your personal Lord and Savior,  you are "seated together with Him in heavenly places." (Ephesians 2:6)
Folks, this is the greatest and most important understanding a person can possess!
"When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the Moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him?".   There is only One who lights our Way to Eternity, and that is Jesus, the True  Light of the world.
Prayer for today:  Open my eyes to see You Jesus, the Creator of all the host of heaven, and to understand your great love forme.  In Jesus name, Amen
