Devotional_Thoughts

Good day and God bless you all this morning! What a beautiful morning it is; This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it! I trust and pray that your day is starting out well.

Our reading is from the Holy Bible, the book of Judges, Chapter 6 verses 18-25. We have seen God take an ordinary man and use him to do extraordinary works. Gideon, along with three hundred men, defeated an army that filled an entire valley. This is how the Lord wins battles! It is important to consider Gideon's response after he went into the enemies camp and heard their fear of him after a dream they had of him tumbling into their camp and crushing it. His response was worship.

When God intervenes in our lives, is our first response to worship Him? Do we take time to acknowledge the intervention and thank Him for it? Oh, I hope so. A grateful heart will worship. Gideon and his men surrounded the enemy camp, blew the trumpets, smashed the empty pitchers they were carrying, and cried out, "the sword of the Lord and of Gideon". Their enemies were dumbfounded and turned on each other! The important thing to notice here is that the Lord was mentioned first, because the victory came from Him. Gideon was being to obedient, and because of his obedience God gave him victory in the battle.

I want to encourage you to be obedient to that still, small voice of God speaking to you today. He speaks to us constantly, in every conversation, every interaction, whether positive or negative. He is always trying to get our attention, and the closer we are to Him the more sensitive we become to the leading of His Spirit. Proverbs 1;20-23 says, "Wisdom calls aloud outside, she raises her voice in the open squares. She cries out in the chief concourses, at the openings of the gates in the city she speaks her words: 'How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? For scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge. Turn at My rebuke; surely I will pour out My Spirit on you; I will make my words known to you".

God is calling you today, do you hear His voice? Will you answer? I pray that you find strength and victory in your battle today! The peace of God be with you...
