During this joyous time of year, many of our neighbors are experiencing need. The Salvation Army needs your help to assist our community. Please consider sharing your time, talents and treasures to help. Here are some ways you could share your time:
The Red Kettle Campaign

One of the most important volunteer opportunities during the holiday season are people to tend our Red Kettle locations. Volunteers can ring a bell, sing hymns and Christmas carols, or play a musical instrument while at the kettle side. There are 60 locations throughout Lee County, and sites in Hendry and Glades counties as well. Kettle season starts on November 18 and runs through December 24. To schedule, please call as soon as possible:
Lee County Valerie (239) 278-1551 ext 210
Hendry County Angie (863) 674-1441
Glades County Tom (863) 233-6190
Additional volunteer opportunities may be available in connection with the Red Kettle campaign, please contact your county representative for further information.
Christmas Cheer
This heartwarming and rewarding volunteer opportunity offers you and chance to directly interact with those seeking assistance. There are also some supporting roles that are more "behind the scenes". Either way, you will help to brighten the holiday for those experiencing need.
To begin, we accept applications from the public for assistance. Volunteers are needed to help with this task. In Lee County this is done at the Administrative and Worship center located at 10291 McGregor Boulevard. The dates and times volunteers are needed are:
Weds., Oct. 26- Thurs., Oct 27 - Fri., Oct. 28 8:30 am to 1:00 pm
Thurs., Nov 3 - Fri., Nov 4 8:30 am to 1:00 pm
Thurs., Nov 3 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Sat., Nov. 12 8:30 am to 1:00 pm
Mon., Nov. 21 8:30 am to 1:00 pm
Please contact Hendry and Glades counties directly for further information on their dates and times.
Christmas Cheer Toyland
At Toyland, we distribute the toys and food to the head of household for each family in need. Volunteers are needed to assist the Mom's and Dad's to select the toys and gifts for their children, also to help with check out, and to assist with food packages and help load cars as well as registration. Large groups are welcome as we need over 100 volunteers each day. While we will start set up in early December, some days that will require extra help will be:
Dec. 7 - Dec. 10 - Dec. 12 - Dec. 13 - Dec. 15 - and Dec. 16
Please check your calendars for availability, and call Kris Volpone at (239) 278-1551 ext. 219 or email at
