2014 Canned Food Drive

2014 School Canned Food Drive September 15-26

Hello Canned Food Drive Coordinator!

The following items can be downloaded to help facilitate your drive:

Please pack your food in the boxes we will supply (they will be delivered to each school by Sept. 12). All boxes must be the same size so we can safely pack them in our truck on palettes. Once the food reaches our warehouse, we can use a fork-lift to move palettes off the trucks. This year, boxes were donated by our partner J.W. Cole Moving & Storage.

A representative from The Salvation Army will speak to your students. Captain Caned Goods will visit elementary schools to help encourage student participation. Please complete the enclosed speaker reservation form and fax or email it to us. We will schedule speakers based on first contact, first served.

Promotional Video
There is a short video which can be viewed on YouTube. The video was created by students at Cypress Lake Center for the Arts.

How We Determine Awards
No matter the size of your enrollment, your school is a contender. Winning schools are determined by total cans collected divided by the total number of students. The only stipulation is that all cans must be counted and the counts forwarded to our office no later than 5pm on September 29.

      • Label boxes by category (e.g., meats, vegetables, fruits, etc.)
      • These are not required steps.
